SCARBOROUGH'S LOCAL PROBLEMS

Bendale Library in Scarborough
It is hard o pinpoint local problems in Scarborough. The problems are hardly visible that one would think they do not exist.

Here are some briefings:
  • Recently, it has been on the news that a young man on Trudelle Street has been sexually assaulting women who walk on the street late at night.
  • It was also alleged that a young man sexually assaulted a young woman at Knobb Hill Park. It is unclear if the assaulter is the same guy from Trudelle Street or just another guy.  The case is being investigated.
  • With the last two weeks there has been a lock down at Knob Hill Junior Public School. It was alleged that there was a shooting in the area.
  • The transit in the area is very slow, compared to the service down town. Scarborough residents have to wait on the bus at least 15-30 minutes (if not longer) most of the time.

  • There is a back log of road repairs, so there ride on some streets tend to be quite bumpy.
  • The libraries are not being sufficiently funded for the service they provide to the community.
  • And according to the Councilor of Ward 38’s secretary there is a lack of proper policing in the community.
